Terms of Use

Last updated: June 2026.

These Terms of Use set out the basis on which you may access and use londonhealthcommission.org.uk (the “site”), an independent editorial resource on urban health infrastructure that continues the legacy of the London Health Commission and its 2014 report, Better Health for London. By accessing the site, browsing its content, or participating in its forum, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

1. Nature of the site and the content

The site provides original explainer articles, policy-context pieces, and infrastructure guides organised around the prevention, primary and community care, urgent care, integration, and health-inequalities agenda set out in Better Health for London. The content is published for general information and to support informed public-policy debate.

Nothing on this site is, or should be relied upon as, medical, clinical, legal, financial, or professional advice. The site is not affiliated with the National Health Service, the Greater London Authority, or any public body, and its content does not represent the official position of any such organisation. Where we cite reports, data, or evidence, we aim to source it accurately and cautiously, but we make no warranty that any material is complete, current, or free from error. You should verify any matter that affects a decision before acting on it.

2. Permitted use

You may read, print, and share individual pages of this site for your own non-commercial, personal, research, or policy purposes, provided you do not remove or obscure any attribution and you do not present the material as your own. Reasonable quotation with a clear citation and a link back to the original page is welcome and encouraged for civic, academic, and journalistic use.

3. Acceptable use

When you use the site — and in particular when you contribute to the forum — you agree that you will not:

  • post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, hateful, or that infringes the rights of any person;
  • impersonate any individual or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with one;
  • publish another person’s private information, or material you do not have the right to share;
  • post material that is deliberately misleading on matters of public health, or that promotes a product, service, or commercial interest as if it were editorial content;
  • upload viruses, malicious code, or anything designed to disrupt or interfere with the site or its users;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers, or any connected system, or use automated tools to scrape or harvest content at scale; or
  • use the site or its forum to send unsolicited commercial communications.

This is an independent, non-partisan resource. Contributions are expected to be measured, evidence-led, and made in good faith. We may, at our discretion and without notice, edit or remove any contribution, suspend access, or decline to publish content that does not meet these expectations.

4. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the editorial text, infrastructure guides, illustrations, structure, and design of this site are original works and are the intellectual property of the London Health Commission editorial project or its contributors, and are protected by copyright and other applicable rights. The London Health Commission name and associated marks are used to identify this editorial resource.

Except as expressly permitted under section 2 above, you may not reproduce, republish, redistribute, adapt, or exploit any part of the site for commercial purposes without our prior written permission. Third-party reports, datasets, and quotations referenced on the site remain the property of their respective owners and are reproduced for commentary, criticism, and the reporting of evidence.

By posting content to the forum, you confirm that you own or have the right to share that content, and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and moderate it on the site for as long as it remains published.

5. Forum participation

The forum is a space for considered, civic discussion of London’s health infrastructure. You are responsible for the content you post. We do not pre-screen every contribution and do not endorse the views expressed by participants. We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove posts, and to restrict or withdraw access where the acceptable-use expectations above are not met.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site available and accurate, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of the site, and may revise these terms from time to time. The current version always governs your use; significant changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or any content on it, or from reliance on any information published here. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them or to your use of the site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

9. Contact

Questions about these Terms of Use, requests to reproduce content beyond the permissions above, or notices of infringement can be raised through our contact page.
